There are news stories breaking all the time from the EFL across the day.

Today has been no different with plenty of news filtering through from clubs up and down the country.

Here are the five biggest EFL news stories of the day...

Reading defender Chris Gunter has been ruled out for the next four weeks thanks to a groin injury.

He has pulled on the Royals shirt for the last 13 consecutive league games but the Championship side has now been handed a major blow as they look to stay away from the relegation dogfight.

The Swansea City midfielder was stretchered off during their 0-0 draw with QPR and is now set to miss the rest of the season.

The former Watford academy product has been ruled out because of an ankle injury.

On the injury, manager Steve Cooper said: "It is a big blow for him because he was having a season where he was having a lot of games and becoming an established young player so we are gutted for him."

Leeds United have confirmed that Adam Forshaw is set for hip surgery in the US and will miss the rest of the season.

Forshaw and the medical team at Elland Road looked at every alternative to try and get Forshaw back for the season run-in but have now come to the decision that surgery is the best option.

EFL clubs are fearing the loss of their best talent if the Football Association imposes a post-Brexit limit of 13 foreign players in squads.

Premier League clubs may then choose to swoop on the best talent from the EFL to try and secure the best English players outside the top flight.

Simon Grayson has been sacked from his role at Blackpool after just eight months in the role.

He struggled during his time back at Bloomfield Road as the team won 13 games out of 38 and lost the same amount while drawing 12.
