The Championship is full of attacking talent and boasts many dazzling prospects down the left side of the midfield, full of pace and technical ability.

Varying from young future Premier League players to seasoned professionals it's hard to highlight five  of the best in this league.

Last season Michail Antonio was the stand out left midfielder making Team of the Year and earning a move to Premier League side West Ham.

Left wingers are essential components to promotion winning sides just like Marc Pugh was for AFC Bournemouth last season.

They have a vital role in midfield of being good technically, having a bit of skill, being able to get assists, as well as scoring goals themselves.

If a team wants to go up this year they'll need a quality player going down the left finding holes in the opposition's defence whilst also able to do his defensive duties.

In the opinion of FLW reporter Michael Hasan the following FIVE players are the best left midfielders the Championship have to offer.....

Johnny Russell

Russell has been excellent for Derby County ever since he joined the Rams from Scottish outfit Dundee United.

The winger is a constant menace for opposition defences in the Championship, and he has all the attributes of an excellent wide midfielder.

Pace, trickery and an eye for goal, it would seriously be no surprise at all to see Russell plying his trade in the Premier League soon.

Kazenga Lualua

The Brighton winger has shown plenty of promise in the last few seasons at Brighton and on his day has proven to be an incredibly dangerous asset.

But he has had a big breakthrough this season with his ability to read the game and use his pace and skill to beat defenders and score goals.

He started the season brilliantly with an excellent winning goal in their opening game against Nottingham Forest and maintained that form over the following two months.

This earned him a player of the month award for August and he has been crucial to Brighton's unbeaten start.

Stuart Dallas

The former Brentford man is known for his excellent shooting ability and pace and was part of Brentford's play-off push last season, in which they played a fast attacking brand of football with Jota, Judge, Dallas and Pritchard all supplying Gray up top.

He scored some excellent goals including a belter against Fulham and his move to Leeds has not damaged his form too much.

He has failed to find his best form but when he does he will be a very dangerous player indeed. Jota also deserves a mention but has sadly been plagued by injuries this season at Brentford.

Marco Matias

Matias has been a revelation since his summer move to Sheffield Wednesday and was in impressive form for the Owls at the start of the season.

He scored one of the goals of the season against Leeds and has been playing with a lot of flair and technical ability down the left side.

He picked up a hernia injury which has stifled his form and ability to press on, but Sheffield Wednesday have been excellent without him as well and are on a 10 man unbeaten run, thanks to Barry Bannan and proving a more than amicable replacement.

Bannan also deserves a lot of praise for how he has filled in for Matias and both will be crucial in there push for the top

Demarai Gray

The Birmingham youngster is showing an awful lot of promise down the left side and is one of the most prized young assets in the entire league.

He attracted a big money bid from Premier League Bournemouth in the summer but Birmingham kept hold of him and under Rowett's revolution he is flourishing.

He has yet to hit top form this season but when he does it will be easy to understand why Birmingham were so desperate to keep him.

His frightening pace is enough to scare any defence and improved crossing has helped him link up well with Donaldson.

If Birmingham are to make a genuine top six challenge then he will be crucial.
