Hull City are having a steady season after a great start to the Championship season, and they were the early season frontrunners.

But the goals have dried up recently with Abel Hernandez unable to keep up his early season form and Akpom has not been consistent.

They do have the second best defence in the league just behind Middlesbrough with the experienced Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson solid at the back, and wing backs Moses Odubajo and Andrew Robertson starring at the back.

Their midfield has been relatively solid with Huddlestone and Livermore good defensively and Diame excellent, when they are looking to add an attacking option in midfield.

Steve Bruce has been steady in the signings he has made, with Akpom arriving on loan from Arsenal and Shaun Maloney making steady progress with fans frustrated at Bruce for not giving him and Diomande more of a chance.

With the strength of the squad and experience of manager they will be a dangerous proposition in the play-offs, but whether they go up or not, here are FIVE youngsters they should seal a deal for from Arsenal in the summer......

Chuba Akpom

Hull will be desperate to keep Akpom as he is a good youth prospect just getting started at Hull.

Also if they fail to go up they will probably lose star striker Abel Hernandez who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, and other clubs in Italy.

Akpom has been decent for Hull this season with three goals in 30 games showcasing good finishing but he has been overshadowed by Hernandez.

He could get the chance to shine next season if used as a lone striker as the first team football he is given, helps his development and he is an England youth international.

Isaac Hayden

Another midfielder/defender on loan to Hull from Arsenal is Isaac Hayden who has been consistent when given a chance.

Hull have the best defence in the league with the experienced Dawson and Davies at the back and Odubajo along with Robertson impressive at full back.

Dawson and Davies are injury prone though and Hayden has been good cover with 15 appearances and a goal against Charlton.

He has played for Arsenal in cup games and Wenger admires his versatility, intelligence and concentration.

Jon Toral

The Spanish midfielder has stepped up his game this season on loan at Birmingham.

He was on loan at Brentford last season but Jota, Pritchard and Judge were very impressive and kept Toral out of the side.

He still managed an impressive six goals for Brentford this season helping them into the play-offs and earned a loan move to play-off chasing Birmingham this season.

He has been one of the division's best attackers with 8 goals in 34 games and has earned praise from Rowett and Wenger.

The 21-year-old may get a chance at Arsenal next season but plenty of sides will be interested in loan moves, as he can certainly do it in the Championship.

Also he deserves time in the Premier League which Hull could give him.

Gedion Zelalem

The Arsenal defensive midfielder looks a good American prospect and has made several appearances for Arsenal from the bench.

This season he was given the chance at first team football playing for Rangers who were trying to get back into the Scottish Premiership, and his impressive performances have helped them get there.

Zelalem has also been capped by Germany and the USA youth sides and has a big future ahead of him, and will provide good cover for Huddlestone and Livermore next season.

Wellington Silva

It has been a miserable season for Bolton this year and they look destined to be relegated to League One this season.

Their defence has been poor but their ills have been mainly down to the poor ownership of the club and management meaning no money has gone into the squad.

Bolton have plenty of decent talents with Vela and Clough looking like excellent young prospects.

Perhaps the brightest spark for Bolton this season has been Wellington Silva who has been electric down the wing for Bolton, with consistent displays and has scored a couple of goals.

His pace and technical ability make him a good asset to Bolton and he can step up to Hull.
