Graham Potter has done a fine job since taking over at Swansea at the start of the season, dealing impressively with a lot of issues that the club have.

Unlike most recently relegated sides, the Swans haven't been big spenders as they seek an immediate top-flight return.

Instead, they actually lost many key players and the board barely backed Potter at all, which saw him promote several youngsters.

And, it's paid off with Dan James looking as though he could be a future Wales star.

Another player was making a similarly positive impact earlier in the campaign as well - defender Joe Rodon, which actually prompted interest from Manchester City.

As our graphic shows, you can see why Pep Guardiola was monitoring the 21-year-old as he could potentially go on to be a top centre-back.

His aerial duels and clearances won highlight how he can defend in the traditional sense in terms of his positioning and physicality.

Yet, what will really appeal to top clubs like City is his courage and quality on the ball, with 57 passes per game a very high number for a centre-back and his accuracy is impressive too.

In modern football you need to be capable technically as a defender and Rodon clearly has a lot of different qualities that make him stand out.

Obviously, he is still a long way off the required level of City right now, as they're arguably the best side in the world, but you can see why they were interested and Rodon will want to keep improving when he returns from injury.
