Bristol City have surprised many in the Sky Bet Championship this season, with Lee Johnson’s side making a fast start and after eight fixtures, sitting just outside the play-offs.

The Robins have continued their fine start to the season over the course of this week, backing up a 4-1 victory over Derby County last Saturday with a 2-0 triumph over Stoke City to progress in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Johnson’s side return to Championship action on Saturday afternoon when they face Norwich City, with the Bristol boss facing a selection headache after a number of his playing squad impressed over the last week.

Here at FLW, we have looked at the personnel Johnson might select in Bristol’s successful 4-4-2 formation.

Frank Fielding is the obvious choice to come back in goal for the clash with Norwich, and we are expecting the same back-four to line up that featured against Derby, after many of them missed the victory over Stoke.

Bailey Wright, Aden Flint, Nathan Baker and Joe Bryan should appear from right to left, with it also our belief that the midfield unit that started against Derby would be better suited than the one selected against Stoke this weekend.

That would see Korey Smith and Marlon Pack reunited in the middle, to be flanked by Jonathan Leko and Jamie Paterson.

Johnson’s biggest selection headache comes in attack, with Famara Diedhiou, Bobby Reid, Cauley Woodrow and Matty Taylor all getting themselves on the scoresheet in recent weeks.

The only change from the XI against Derby should come in attack, as we believe £4m-rated Diedhiou should get the nod ahead of Woodrow, with the 24-year-old partnering Bobby Reid.
