It's recently been reported by Football Insider, that Derby County are interesting in signing Blackpool striker Armand Gnanduillet in the January transfer window.

The forward has been in impressive form so far this season, having scored 12 goals across all competitions for the Tangerines as they sit eighth in the League One table.

Gnanduillet's current deal with Blackpool is set to expire at the end of this year's campaign, and you have to imagine that the club will be doing all they can to tie him down to a new deal in the near future.

However, in a recent interview with the Blackpool Gazette, Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has revealed that the club aren't in a position where they need to cash in on their prize assets, which will be pleasing to hear for the club's supporters as we head into the January transfer window.

"I would think any player that is playing well and is scoring goals will get interest.

"We’re looking at players all the time but financially we won’t have to sell him – that is what Simon Sadler is saying about all our players.

"We’ll do what is right for the football club but it’s pure speculation at this time. No-one from Derby or Charlton has rung me yet, so we’ll have to wait and see."

When quizzed on whether Gnanduillet has been offered a new deal, Grayson revealed that the club have been in contact with his agent, although it remains to be seen as to whether an agreement has been reached between both parties involved.

"Maybe it’s an agent just playing a bit of early transfer business when we’ve still got six weeks to go. I think the club have mentioned it to his agent, so we’ll just see where that one goes."

Blackpool are next in action on Wednesday, when they take on League Two side Scunthorpe United in the EFL Trophy, in a game where they'll be expected to progress to the next stage of the competition.

The Verdict:

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gnanduillet leave the club in the January transfer window.

He's been in fantastic form so far this season, and has shown that he can score goals on a consistent basis to keep Blackpool in the hunt for promotion into the Championship.

But with interest from the likes of Derby and Charlton,
