It's not been the best season so far for Sheffield Wednesday with Carlos Carvalhal's men really struggling for consistency more than anything else.

The men from Hillsborough are once again expecting and expected to challenge for the top six this year but they do need to add some consistency to their performances if they are to close the gap. They've gone from beating Leeds to losing to Bolton in recent weeks and, to be frank, that isn't going to yield you a play-off spot.

Even so, there is plenty of time to go with the gap between them and the top six only four points and as long as they are in the equation in January, we'd expect them to spend some money to strengthen their charge.

Whilst we wait to see what happens there, though, we also think it might be time for some exits from the Yorkshire side and so, with that in mind, here are two players that could be following one another out of the door in the next window...

Adthe Nuhiu

The big striker's time at Sheffield Wednesday is surely coming to an end, isn't it?

Rated at £450k by transfermarkt, the target man isn't getting a sniff this season and with the likes of Gary Hooper, Steven Fletcher, Jordan Rhodes and Lucas Joao ahead of him in the pecking order, that isn't going to change. It's time for him to look for new employers in January.

Marco Matias

Another striker not really getting many minutes is Marco Matias, but we'd suggest a loan deal might actually be more beneficial for him.

He certainly seems more interchangeable with the more favoured strikers at the club at the moment and we'd argue that with a good spell away temporarily, he might begin to figure in Carlos Carvalhal's plans again. At the moment, though, he might just have to deal with a more withdrawn role until the January window.
