Sheffield Wednesday fans will surely be some of the most eager to see their side get back to Championship action this weekend after their win over Leeds last time out.

Though the season has been pretty steady for the Owls so far, they have shown what they are capable of at times and their win over the Whites certainly underlined that.

For sure, then, they'll be looking to build this weekend but whilst we wait to see if they can do that we've been thinking about who they might buy and sell in the January transfer window.

Certainly, the men from Hillsborough could do with a few extra players to really bolster their title credentials whilst there is also some players that need to go as they are not going to be playing for the club any time soon.

With that in mind, then, here is one player the Owls should let go and one that they should sign in the next window...

Axed: Atdhe Nuhiu

Rated at £450k by transfermarkt, the big striker has become less and less a frequent figure for the Owls and it could be time for him to go.

With Gary Hooper on fire and the likes of Steven Fletcher and Jordan Rhodes higher up in the pecking order, it really is hard to see how Nuhiu is going to start playing for the men from Hillsborough again. It's time he moves on to kick-start his career.

In: Marcus Edwards

Edwards is a top young talent at the moment and if he works hard and maximises his potential, he could be a massive star for his current club Tottenham.

He needs senior game-time, though, and isn't likely to get that at Spurs so it could be time for him to secure a loan deal to a club like Wednesday. He has all the talent and tricks you'd want from a creative force in midfield and could be the extra spark to help the Owls finally return to the Premier League.
