Jack Clarke has re-signed with Ian Harte with the former Leeds United player continuing as the agent of the current Elland Road talent.

Leeds' academy produced Harte in the late 90s, and now, Clarke is the emerging star at Elland Road, having progressed through Thorp Arch over the years.

It’s well known that Harte is Clarke’s agent, with the 41-year-old confirming on his social media platform that he has re-signed Clarke, which he is delighted about.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, Clarke, 18, has been given his chance to shine in the first-team as injuries hamper the Elland Road boss.

So far this season, the teenage winger has made six substitute appearances and is now knocking on the door of the starting XI after some impressive cameos.

Clarke laid on the assist for Pablo Hernandez in a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United earlier this month, whilst his impressive first-team impact has also seen him attract top-flight interest.

According to reports last week, Manchester City are interested in signing Clarke in January, with Pep Guardiola a long-term admirer of the talented Leeds youngster, who is contracted at Elland Road until 2021.

The Verdict

There’s no denying that Clarke has made sensible decisions so far in his career, which makes re-signing with Harte a good move.

He appears to be at the right club, with a long-term deal behind him, whilst first-team opportunities are coming regularly enough.

Harte will trust what Leeds do, as he went down a similar path, and should be encouraging Clarke to take his chance at Elland Road.
