Former Reading striker Adam le Fondre was a nomad of English Football, but where’s he playing his football at now?

There were few better finishers than Adam le Fondre in his heyday.

Best known for his time at Rochdale, Rotherham and Reading, le Fondre was a highly-regarded striker for a long time in the English Football League.

After leaving Reading in 2014, his career never really settled down - he moved to Cardiff City where he looked to have lost his prolific touch in-front of goal, before becoming a serial-loanee striker at several clubs in the Championship.

He finally landed himself at Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2017, having spent the previous season there on-loan.

After one year in Lancashire and another mishap of a season, le Fondre and the club decided the terminate his contract, and the striker then set his sights on pastures new.

He signed for Australian A-League side Sydney FC last summer and in his first season down under, recorded his best goals tally since his Madejski days.

The 32-year-old scored 21 goals in all competitions for Sydney in his first season at the club, and has started this new season in a similar vein.

Le Fondre has become a cult hero in New South Wales, following the likes of Dwight Yorke, Juninho and Alessandro Del Piero in joining Sydney.

The Stockport-born striker isn’t held in the same vein as some of the overseas talents to join the Aussie club, but he’s quickly making a name for himself in the A-League, and showing fans why he once one of English Football’s deadliest finishers.
