Exeter City's Jayden Stockley looks set to be the first big money transfer of the window as he seals a £750,000 move to Championship side Preston North End.

The striker has been in sensational form in the last 18 months, moving from Aberdeen to Exeter and firing the Grecians to last year's play-off final. This season he's not let up with the clinical finishing, which Exeter have now seen fit to cash in on.

They've moved quickly to replace the target man, bringing in Ryan Bowman from Motherwell to carry the side forward, but that won't make a huge dent in their transfer kitty.

The funds they've raised will allow them to be a little more adventurous in the market, with potential for other new signings coming their way.

Where else should they look to strengthen? Who should they spend their new found wealth on? FLW looks at four targets they'd be wise to move for.

Exeter have lost two centre-backs to injury this season and they'll need to recruit in that area as much as anywhere on the field.

Lincoln City's James Wilson has played at a higher level, but his chances at Sincil Bank have been limited.

He would make a great signing for any other League Two side.

McLoughlin is a League of Ireland defender, recently a runner-up in the LOI Cup Final with Cork City.

He's rumoured to have been a target for Doncaster Rovers, but his composure and fighting spirit could easily be suited to League Two, especially if Exeter guarantee first-team football.

This would be a loan signing, but true to Liverpool's usual form there might well be a fee.

Exeter need a holding midfielder, one to screen the new-look back four if they strengthen there too.

Virtue is 21-years-old and ready for senior football. He'd be an exciting talent to attract to St James Park.

They might also want to prepare for a move away for keeper Pym, another big performer for them in recent seasons.

If there's some cash to splash around, why not look to Stoke City and Jakob Haugaard?

The 26-year old is well down the pecking order at the bet365 Stadium, but would be a great capture for a League Two side.
