After their play-off success in May, Coventry City fans are hoping the worst of their troubles are behind them.

They're looking upwards, hoping that a season of learning how to win games will serve them well now they're back in amongst challenging opposition.

They've swapped Stevenage for Sunderland, Cheltenham for Charlton and they're hoping to repeat their top six finish of last season again.

Mark Robins' side didn't have it all their own way last season, proven by the collapses at home against Lincoln and Yeovil, but they did enough to earn their promotion and nobody will be worried about those horror performances when the kick off against Scunthorpe on August 4th.

It's been a busy summer too, Robins has remodelled his squad rather than rebuilt it and looks set to use the core of his promotion winning side to try the same this year.

That isn't to say we've learned nothing though, it's been a revealing couple of months at the Ricoh.

Here's four things FLW has learned about Coventry City.

Doyle signed a new deal in the summer and, despite his advancing years, looks set for another campaign in the middle of the park.

His experience will be vital for the Sky Blues if they're to attempt successive promotions.

Alongside him, Liam Kelly is also looking likely to feature heavily, with little happening in the way of incomings in his position.

The continuity that both he and Michael Doyle offer will ensure it is business as usual in the middle of the park.

With a rejected bid for Conor Chaplin behind him, Robins has showed he's not afraid to spend the McNulty money where needed.

Much will ride on ensuring they're not light up front when the new season stats following their leading scorer's switch to Reading.

Left back Stokes had a solid season last time out, but things change quickly and he's been deemed surplus to requirements.

The best managers make the tough decisions without sentiment and in letting him move to Bury, Robins has done just that.
