Karl Robinson's Oxford United put more distance between themselves and the relegation zone this weekend with a fine 2-0 win against Blackpool at the Kassam.

Goals from Marcus Browne and James Henry gave them a comfortable win, which leaves them 18th in the table, five points clear of the final relegation place currently occupied by Plymouth Argyle.

They've now lost just once in 14 matches in all competitions and are undefeated in four. After a horrible start to the season where they won just one of their first 12 league matches, it seems they're back on track.

It isn't just a turnaround in fortunes that is evident following the win though, we learned far more than that at the weekend. FLW highlights some of the key lessons to emerge from the game.

The first lesson is that their days of struggle are looking to be behind them. Blackpool are eighth in the table and it looked a tough match on paper, but Oxford were composed and scored a big win.

Not only that, but it came at home, a place where they've not looked comfortable in 2018. that's a big step in the right direction.

James Henry has been superb and as he continues to perform, so do the U's.

He's got eight league goals this season, 11 in total and with him in the side, they're always going to pose a threat.

In truth, Oxford dominated this game and that isn't something they've been doing in recent weeks.

That is something they have threatened to do without ever really grasping matches, but Blackpool didn't get a look in from start to finish.

That's a big step forward for Robinson.

At 2-0, they managed the game superbly, some call it time-wasting, but it's game management.

Everyone does it, it is frustrating when it is against you, but when it's your side then it's a clever tactic.

Oxford managed the final stages of this game superbly.
