4 tackles, 2 shots: The Millwall man fuelling Lions’ play-off fire

Millwall have been a brilliant story to follow this season and things really could have a fairy-tale ending this year the way things are going.

The Lions have really gone under the radar this year in the Championship and whilst most back-to-back promotion talk has concerned Sheffield United, Millwall are just as capable of doing that.

Their home form remains strong whilst their away form is really picking up and, with our latest FLW Spotlight subject George Saville pulling the strings, you simply cannot rule them out…

Saville, in truth, has been superb all season in the middle of the park for the Bermondsey side and he was certainly quick off of the mark at the weekend against Brentford.

It took him less than a minute of the game against the Bees to hit what would turn out to be the winner on Saturday and from there he largely bossed the game.

An all-round central midfielder, Saville suits Millwall’s 4-4-2 down to the ground with the way he can both lend a hand in defence and contribute attacking-wise.

His numbers in both the tackling and interceptions area as well as the more creative side were competitive as he put in another rounded performance.

A few more of them, then, and the Lions could just make the top six.
