Huddersfield enjoyed a superb start to life in the Championship this season, topping the table until very recently.

A slump in form has seen them dip away from the top two, however despite being 5 points off the automatic places, they still sit third, a position most Terriers fans would have only dreamed about at the start of the season.

Manager David Wagner has done a very good job so far during his tenure. Bringing in young players from the Premier League and adding them to relatively unknown players from the Bundesliga, things are looking up for the club.

Wagner though will know he will need to strengthen in the January transfer window, and he might well want to add to his striking options with Kachunga and Nahki Wells no doubt requiring some support as the season progresses.

Here, we take a look at FOUR strikers who would be superb January signings for Huddersfield...

Nicky Ajose

Nicky Ajose

Ajose only joined Charlton from Swindon in the summer, but might well be open to a further move up a level should the opportunity arise.

Much like Nahki Well,s Ajose has excelled in the lower leagues for a number of years now, and might well be ready for a chance at the Championship.

Huddersfield could be the ideal destination for him. If Ajose could hit the same form he did last year, then he would be an excellent signing for the Terriers.

Zach Clough

One of the shining lights outside of the top two divisions, Clough is an excellent prospect.

The little forward can play both up top and just off the front, and is a real handful for defenders with his trickery and movement with the ball.

It is only a matter of time before someone snaps Clough up. However, Huddersfield might well decide to take a chance on him, with Bolton languishing down in League One these days.

Atdhe Nuhiu

The big striker is either loved or hated by fans at Sheffield Wednesday, but there is no doubting he can do a very decent job in the Championship.

Nuhiu is a real handful of a centre forward, and would offer something entirely different to that which Huddersfield already have.

The Owls have a plethora of talent in the striking positions, meaning Nuhiu might well fancy a move away for a while, with Huddersfield a pretty decent option indeed.

Gabby Agbonlahor

The experienced Villa man has been given somewhat of a reprieve by new manager Steve Bruce, but he might still find himself on his way out come January.

Huddersfield would love to add some more pace and experience to their squad, and Agbonlahor ticks those boxes.

The England international is a player of real speed and know how when it comes to leading the line. Huddersfield manager David Wagner would be wise to move to add some experience to his squad.
