We are entering the business end of the Sky Bet Championship season, with Dean Smith’s Brentford side still in with a shout of pushing on for the play-offs during the run-in.

Brentford currently sit 10th in the table, but following last night’s 2-0 victory over Burton Albion, the Bees are just five points adrift of the top-six heading into the final 11 fixtures of the season.

Smith’s side were reasonably comfortable at the Pirelli Stadium, taking the lead through a Kyle McFadzean own-goal on the hour, before Ollie Watkins doubled that lead 20 minutes later.

That strike was Watkins’ 11th goal of the season, with the former Exeter City forward continuing to impress in the Championship.

Here at FLW, we have taken a closer look at Watkins’ impact against Burton last night:

The 22-year-old completed 90 minutes in Brentford’s victory, and of course, scored the game’s all-important second goal with a cultured finish.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, Watkins managed four efforts on the Burton goal.

In possession the young forward was extremely impressive, making 39 passes and one key pass, at a success rate of 79.5%.
