After a standout individual campaign for Nottingham Forest, it's certainly no surprise to see interest from the Premier League emerge in Matty Cash.

The 23-year-old was converted from a winger into a full-back in pre-season following a ligament injury to Tendayi Darikwa, and the player certainly hasn't looked back since.

Producing a series of impressive performances for Sabri Lamouchi's side on a weekly basis, Cash was, rather inevitably, voted as the Reds' Player of the Season by supporters.

Forest's season ended in heartbreak, though, as they inexplicably fell out of the top-six in the final minutes of the season, leaving Cash's future up in the air.

The likes of Fulham, West Ham and Sheffield United are now looking to poach Cash following Forest's failure to reach the Premier League in 2019/20, with the Blades being heavily linked with the full-back.

As per the Mirror's James Nursey, United - whose first bid of £10m was rejected by Forest - are now set to offer a lower amount of £4m for the defender, but offer two fringe players in exchange.

The Blades endured a remarkable first season back in the Premier League as they finished in ninth position, but there are some players who are out of favour at Bramall Lane who could be useful for Forest.

Here, we take a look at four players who Forest could look to target in exchange for Cash...

This should be a no-brainer for Forest, and as Paul Taylor of The Athletic recently revealed, Forest would look to get United to include Freeman in any potential deal for Cash.

Freeman joined United from QPR in the summer, on the back of scoring nine goals and registering eight assists for Mark Warburton's side in the 2018/19 Championship campaign.

But the 28-year-old has since started only three times in the Premier League for the Blades, and he has been unable to break into the team ahead of John Fleck, Oliver Norwood and Sander Berge.

He's a creative midfielder who has stood out in the Championship before, and his ability to play out wide or in behind the striker could be key for the Reds.

Forest have recently brought in Lyle Taylor on a free transfer in order to provide competition for Lewis Grabban, but Robinson could be another shrewd addition for the Reds.

Able to play on the left flank or up top, Robinson joined United from Preston North End in the summer, after scoring 13 goals for Alex Neil's side in the 18/19 season.

The Republic of Ireland international has been unable to make an impact at Bramall Lane thus far, though, making only nine starting appearances in the Premier League, scoring two goals in all competitions.

Robinson joined West Bromwich Albion on loan in January, scoring three goals and chipping in with two assists to help the Baggies win automatic promotion to the top-flight.

He could be a perfect fit at the City Ground.

With Joe Worrall continuing to attract interest from Burnley, and the likes of Michael Dawson and Yohan Benalouane approaching the latter stages of their careers, Bryan could be an interesting addition.

The 23-year-old has made only four appearances for the Blades since joining from Manchester City in 2018, and gained experience out on loan in League One with Bolton last term.

A natural centre-half who can also operate as a holding midfielder, Bryan could be worth a punt for Forest, and he'd strengthen a position that perhaps needs strengthening in the near future.

This would be an ambitious signing for the Reds, but if United really want Cash, and Lamouchi can sell Forest's vision to the midfielder, then there is no reason as to why a deal cannot materialise.

Lundstram endured an excellent season for the Blades, scoring five goals and registering three assists in 34 top-flight appearances this term.

The 26-year-old is now said to be the subject of interest from four Premier League sides, but with only one year left on his deal at Bramall Lane, a move away could be likely this summer.

If Forest can sell the dream of promotion and Premier League football to Lundstram, then a deal could be possible. It would certainly be a coup.
