4 Sheffield United players Nottingham Forest should look to demand in exchange for Matty Cash

After a standout individual campaign for Nottingham Forest, it’s certainly no surprise to see interest from the Premier League emerge in Matty Cash.

The 23-year-old was converted from a winger into a full-back in pre-season following a ligament injury to Tendayi Darikwa, and the player certainly hasn’t looked back since.

Producing a series of impressive performances for Sabri Lamouchi’s side on a weekly basis, Cash was, rather inevitably, voted as the Reds’ Player of the Season by supporters.

Forest’s season ended in heartbreak, though, as they inexplicably fell out of the top-six in the final minutes of the season, leaving Cash’s future up in the air.

The likes of Fulham, West Ham and Sheffield United are now looking to poach Cash following Forest’s failure to reach the Premier League in 2019/20, with the Blades being heavily linked with the full-back.

As per the Mirror’s James Nursey, United – whose first bid of £10m was rejected by Forest – are now set to offer a lower amount of £4m for the defender, but offer two fringe players in exchange.

The Blades endured a remarkable first season back in the Premier League as they finished in ninth position, but there are some players who are out of favour at Bramall Lane who could be useful for Forest.

Here, we take a look at four players who Forest could look to target in exchange for Cash…
