Millwall drew their second successive game of the new season against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon, thanks to an inspired performance from Jordan Archer.

The Lions came away from Ewood Park with one point and a clean sheet for their troubles in what was a tense and tight affair.

Keeper Archer made three crucial saves, including two one-on-ones from Rovers striker Danny Graham to keep the game goalless.

The 25-year-old made four saves in total and was able to claim the ball five times during a match that had two contrasting halves.

Neil Harris' men were relatively comfortable during the opening 45 minutes but the second half was anything but pleasant.

Blackburn set up camp in the Lions’ half with Millwall rarely making it past the halfway line.

Archer was inspirational with some last-ditch stops that would not look out of place in the Premier League.

The former Spurs keeper played ten long balls as he thwarted a series of Blackburn attacks.

The majority of his 21 passes came in the first half with the Lions hitting the post twice in what was the quintessential away performance.

His pass success rate was only 48%, but it was his last-ditch heroics that made him the standout performer in a game that would have been a nightmare for him last season.

The plaudits for the performance rightly followed after a monumental effort from the Lions’ number one.
