Rotherham United remain well in contention to win a swift promotion back into the Championship this season under the guidance of Paul Warne.

The Millers are currently sat second in the League One table, but won't be getting ahead of themselves by any stretch of the imagination, with just three points separating Rotherham and seventh-placed Sunderland in the third tier standings.

Paul Warne's side were relegated into League One last season, and will be keen to make a quick return to the second tier heading towards the conclusion of this year's campaign.

It could be an interesting summer ahead for the Millers, as they look to clear out the 'deadwood' in the first-team squad ahead of next year's campaign.

We look at FOUR Rotherham United players who we expect to leave the club in the next few months.

Find out who they are, on the next page...

The experienced full-back has made 12 appearances for Rotherham this season, but made a rare appearance in their 3-1 defeat to Rochdale before the break from competitive action.

Jones is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and it seems highly likely that he'll be leaving the club after struggling to make a notable impact this term.

The goalkeeper is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and is highly unlikely to have done enough to warrant a new deal at the New York Stadium.

Price has made 29 appearances in total for the Millers, but has struggled for game time in this year's campaign, with the 35-year-old making five appearances this season.

It seems as though it's only a matter of time before he departs, especially if Rotherham are to win promotion back into the Championship.

This is one that is likely to divide opinion amongst the Rotherham United supporters.

Wood has been a fantastic servant to the club and scored the crucial goals to fire them to promotion into the Championship in the 2017/18 campaign.

He has made 28 appearances this term, but is out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign. At the age of 34, it could be argued that he might not be up to the standard of Championship football for another season.

If Rotherham are to win promotion into the Championship this season, then they'll need to move a number of players on to make way for any potential signings during the summer transfer window.

MacDonald could be one of the players to move on, as the former AFC Bournemouth and Wigan Athletic midfielder has struggled for consistent game time this season.

In total, he has made 17 appearances for the Millers this term, and with his contract due to expire in the summer of 2021, they could be tempted to accept any offers that come their way for the midfielder.
