Pontus Jansson’s reputation at Leeds United continues to grow, with the Swedish defender establishing himself as one of the best central defenders outside of the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has been at Elland Road over 18 months now, and has been key in transforming Leeds’ ambitions in the Sky Bet Championship, with his will to win something that has to be admired.

Of course, with Leeds not looking like they will be ending their long wait for a Premier League return this season, there is risk that Jansson could be on his way out of Elland Road in the summer.

Victor Orta has been discussing Jansson this week, admitting that whilst the defender has a lengthy contract behind him, there is still the possibility he could force his way out of Elland Road, similar to Chris Wood in the summer.

Should Jansson head for the exit door in the summer, we take a look at four potential replacements Leeds could take a look at…

Flint has been up there with the best central defenders in the Championship this season, helping Bristol City into top-six contention.

The 28-year-old has scored vital goals for the Robins and is sure to attract interest in the summer.

Of course, Flint’s signature would cost a lot, but Leeds would be sure to receive a healthy package if Jansson was to depart.

Helander has been linked with a move to English football for some time now, and if Leeds were to lose Jansson in the summer, they could do worse than making a move for his compatriot.

At 24, Helander is younger than Jansson, and like the 27-year-old, is part of Sweden’s international set up.

Bartley is a man that Leeds’ supporters want to see back at Elland Road even if Jansson stays.

The Swansea City defender was immense for Leeds last season in the Championship, and although his signature would cost, it would be well worth the move.

Bartley would hand everyone at Elland Road a boost, particularly if Jansson has departed.

Roberts hasn’t been convincing at all since moving to Birmingham City, but prior to his spell at St Andrew’s he looked good.

The defender played under Paul Heckingbottom at Barnsley, and the new Leeds head-coach could be eyeing a reunion at Elland Road.

It would be a risk, but one Leeds would trust Heckingbottom to make.
