The 2015/16 campaign was a very mediocre one for Queen's Park Rangers as they finished in an uninspiring 12th position.

The arrival of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in December sparked a new era for the R's as the appointment of a relatively inexperienced manager in Hasselbaink caused some shocks around Loftus Road.

However, the gaffer managed to steer his side towards a mid-table finish despite many football fans expecting him to have a tough time at the Championship club.

The work of the 44 year old was made even more impressive by the fact that their leading goalscorer departed for the Premier League - leaving a big hole to fill in the front line of the R's attack.

Nevertheless, after the final game of the 2015/16 SkyBet Championship season, Hasselbaink reiterated the importance of a "busy" summer in the transfer market to move players both in and out of the London club.

With Hasselbaink arriving to Loftus Road in early December on a rolling contract, the transfer window proved to be very limited in spending - Conor Washington and Matt Ingram being two of Hasselbaink's three signings in that window.

As a result, he is left with more or less the same squad that he inherited upon his arrival towards the end of 2015. Thus, the summer will be a good time for Hasselbaink to sell players he is not keen to keep at the club.

Football League World writer Reece Chambers identifies FOUR players who Hasselbaink could sell this summer.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Following the expiration of his contract at Bristol City in 2015, the R's snapped up the Arsenal academy product.

However, following a change in management with Hasselbaink coming in, the 25 year-old was loaned out to MK Dons in February for the remainder of the campaign. He started just four times for the struggling Championship side and failed to score during his time at MK Dons.

As a result of that less than impressive loan spell, it is probably fair to say that Emmanuel-Thomas is not part of Hasselbaink's plans at QPR.

Daniel Tozser

The 31-year-old joined Queen's Park Rangers in the summer of 2015 after a successful promotion bid with Watford during the 2014/15 campaign.

However, since his arrival to Loftus Road, the midfielder has only accumulated a total of 14 appearances - 5 of which have been made from the bench. In that time, the Hungarian has scored just the one goal in a less than impressive spell at the London side.

As a result, Hasselbaink could look to offload Tozser from the squad this summer given his lack of playing time and increasing age.

Jamie Mackie

After a 2-year spell away from QPR, Mackie signed a two year deal with the club in 2015 following his release from Nottingham Forest.

However, the 30-year-old's return to the R's didn't go quite how the forward would have wanted. He made just 15 league appearances in the blue and white hoops - scoring just the one goal.

Having not been a signing that Hasselbaink made, the R's boss might look to sell Mackie this summer to allow younger talent to brought to the club in an attempt to build the club from the youth.

Sebastian Polter

After the departure of Charlie Austin to Southampton, Polter had a chance to step up to the mark and secure a place in the R's team.

However, he only managed to make a total of 22 league appearances following his move from German football in the summer of 2015.

He netted 5 times in the league for QPR which probably isn't the type of form Hasselbaink will want if his side is to threaten the play-off places next season.

Therefore, Hasselbaink may look to move him on and bring in a striker who can net goals on a more regular basis.
