Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a mediocre season, finishing the season in 14th place with 58 points.

However, considering their push for the play-offs last term, their first back in the second tier, the fans may have expected slightly better than lower mid-table.

Wolves spent three seasons in the top flight, before two successive relegations saw them drop to League One.

However, in their first season there they won the title with a massive 103 points, and haven't looked like dropping back since.

This season, they haven't really recovered from selling star man Benik Afobe to Bournemouth, as he is still their top scorer.

They will struggle without reinforcements next season, and in the days of Financial Fair Play, Kenny Jackett will need to offset any signings by selling players.

There is plenty of dead wood lying around Molineux, and even a fairly shallow look at the statistics and you wonder how some of these players are at a club like Wolves.

Players that would have been included on my list include Adam Le Fondre and Bjorn Sigurdarsson, but the latter was released on Monday and the former is not having his loan deal extended.

Here, in the opinion of FLW's Ryan Evans, are FOUR players that Wolves fans should said goodbye to this summer......

Dave Edwards

Far from the most guilty of doing nothing at the club, Edwards has made 29 league appearances this season, being involved in seven goals for his team. He hasn't been able to nail down a regular position, making most of his appearances as an attacking midfielder but also playing pretty much anywhere in midfield.

And when you delve further into the stats, it makes Edwards' contribution worse.

In 17 matches as an attacking midfielder, he has just three goals and no assists to his name.

Wolves will want to push for the play-offs next season, and it doesn't look likely that they'll do it with Edwards as their main creative force.

Jack Price

The 23-year old has been at the club ever since 2001, just spending time on loan at Yeovil and Leyton Orient in 2014. This season he has made 24 appearances and scored once, in a role all about stopping his opponents from getting on the scoresheet.

He's one amongst many that has done a mediocre job, but if Wolves want to move on to the next level and seriously sustain a charge for the top six, and have any chance of fighting in the top flight should they find themselves there, they will need a better holding midfielder.

Conor Coady

Coady has been a shoe-in in Jackett's team this season, making the lion share of his appearances either in defensive midfield or central.

According to whoscored.com's player ratings, Coady has disappointed with 6.54 out of 10, the 21st best out of the whole squad. In the spine of the side, they need their key central midfielder to be one of the shining lights, dictating the play and shifting the ball around.

However, he hasn't been able to do this enough, and his ability to regain possession of the ball has caught Wolves out on occassion.

Nouha Dicko

The striker suffered a serious injury in late August, forcing him to miss the rest of the season. However, he contributed just one assist in his five games and not looked like hitting any sort of form before his injury.

The 23-year old joined the club after promotion from League One, and scored 15 in his debut season, but may be disposed for the next level strikers that Wolves will want to bring in.
