Leeds United have this morning announced the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa as the club’s new head-coach.

Confirmation has come from the Whites that Bielsa will take charge at Elland Road on a two-year deal, with Leeds having the option to extend that deal by a further year.

The 62-year-old is brining a wealth of experience to the Sky Bet Championship, with the task of sending Leeds back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Bielsa has an outstanding reputation in the world of football, with his 3-3-1-3 system his trademark.

That system sees Bielsa play with inverted wingers, who play a role similar to a wing-back.

Bielsa will be looking to add players to his squad this summer, but there are players currently at Elland Road that will fit into the energetic role of an inverted winger.

Here at FLW, we take a look at FOUR that would suit playing as an inverted winger under Bielsa…

Dallas has played as a right winger and right-back at Elland Road in recent years, with the Northern Irish international unable to nail down a regular place in the side.

For Northern Ireland, Dallas has played as a wing-back and could be perfect as an inverted winger under Bielsa.

He has great energy and is good on the ball.

Coyle is returning to Elland Road from a successful loan spell with Fleetwood Town and will be knocking on the door of the first-team next season.

Having come through the system as a right-back, who can also play in midfield, Coyle could be ideal in Bielsa’s system.

Playing the youngster as an inverted winger could be the perfect way to get him and Luke Ayling in the same side.

Pearce is another young player who could thrive under Bielsa, having burst onto the scene late last season.

The left-back has good attacking instincts and would be perfect in a wing-back or inverted winger role.

Whilst not all Pearce’s defensive duties would be lifted in a 3-3-1-3 system, he would have a licence to get forward.

Alioski played as a winger for Leeds last season, but like Dallas, has experience of playing in a wing-back role for his country.

The Macedonian international has great energy and is surprisingly good defensively.

Of course, Alioski could play a more attacking role, but he could be a good option as an inverted winger.
