Millwall have had what must be a thoroughly irritating 2018/19 campaign considering the brilliant form that saw them finish the previous season.

The Lions went on a mammoth unbeaten run after Christmas to launch a shock challenge for a play-off spot, but just fell short.

Hopes were high that Neil Harris would be able to carry that form and style into this season and that they could have another impressive campaign.

Sadly that has not been the case.

They currently sit in 20th and just one point above the drop zone, with Tuesday night's win against doing very little to help their immediate cause.

A run of six defeats in seven matches plummeted the London club down the table and it would not be a surprise if Harris was already plotting some January moves.

With youth becoming more and more of an appeal in the modern game, here are FOUR players under the age of 21 who Millwall should be looking at...

The sale of George Saville in the summer seems to have hit the club harder than they expected.

McTominay would be a brilliant option to bring in on loan as he would add some desperately needed quality to the midfield and offer some protection to a surprisingly leaky back four.

Hume has had a great debut season with Sunderland and looks to be a real prospect.

His contract is running down, so there is a chance that the Black Cats will want to cash in on him if a new deal cannot be agreed.

Millwall's defence could do with reinforcements and Hume would be a great fit.

Wilks remains on loan with Doncaster until January and Millwall should try and poach him when he returns to Leeds United.

The 19-year-old has shown himself to be a terrific League One striker and he would undoubtedly relish the chance to prove himself in the second-tier.

There has been a real lack of flare at the Den this season and that is something that Leko could add.

It is unlikely West Brom would want to sell their promising youngster, but with the Baggies' attack looking impenetrable, a loan move could well be a good idea for Harris.
