Sheffield Wednesday have endured a tough beginning to the 2016/17 season, with 2 losses, 1 draw, and 1 win in the league thus far, whilst also being humiliated by Cambridge United in the EFL Cup, losing 2-1.

For a team that came agonisingly close to promotion last term, the Owls' start is extremely disappointing, especially for the Hillsborough faithful.

In addition to this, severe unrest between talisman Fernando Forestieri and boss Carlos Carvalhal has disturbed tranquility at the Yorkshire club, after the Italian refused to play against Norwich City last week.

Now that unrest has been put to bed, for now, Carvalhal will be looking to regain form and start winning games again, in order to form a total blitz on the Championship, and the acquisitions of Steven Fletcher, Almen Abdi, and David Jones definitely help in doing this.

Here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies FOUR players the Wednesday boss should look to bring in before the transfer window deadline.....

Ben Marshall

Having enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Hillsborough in the 2011/12 campaign, the 25-year-old is no stranger to the Wednesday faithful.

The Blackburn winger has made 104 appearances for the Rovers, and has been linked with a return back to the Yorkshire club for what seems a lifetime.

Wednesday have been crying out for a left sided midfielder for months now, and the pacey winger would be a fantastic coup for Carvalhal's men.

Tom Ince

The Derby winger is highly regarded by the Rams' faithful, and rightly so, having scored 23 times in 60 games for Nigel Pearson's men.

Ince's main attributes are his pace, acceleration and skill on the ball, as well as his intelligence and composure when through on goal, which would all be incredible assets for Carvalhal and his Wednesday side.

Although it would have to be a huge sum of money to lure the 24-year-old away from the iPro Stadium, the Owls are more than capable to prize the talented winger away from the East Midlands, in what could be a sensational acquisition for Carvalhal.

Jeff Hendrick

Another one of Derby's main men, Hendrick would complete a formidable midfield for Wednesday, along with Barry Bannan and Almen Abdi.

Having been at the Rams since 2010, the Republic of Ireland international has made 196 appearances for Pearson's men, and has played a pivotal role in Derby's successes, in his 6 year tenure with the club.

Once again, it would be a massive coup for Wednesday if Hendrick were to join, and the Yorkshire club are more than capable to delve into their bank account to bring the Irish midfielder to Hillsborough.

Jordan Rhodes

For a player of Jordan Rhodes' calibre and quality, it seems extremely strange as to why the prolific goalscorer finds himself heavily down the pecking order at newly promoted Premier League outfit Middlesbrough.

The Scotsman has scored 167 goals in 318 career appearances, and once netted 36 times for Huddersfield Town in their 2011/12 League One promotion campaign

Rhodes has proved throughout his career that he is a proven goalscorer, and after the uncertainty surrounding Fernando Forestieri's future at Hillsborough, Rhodes would be a phenomenal replacement, if Wednesday were to lure him back to Yorkshire on a season long loan deal.

So...What do you think Wednesday fans? Would you be happy with these 4 signings? Who else would you like to see Carlos Carvalhal bring to the club? Leave your opinions and suggestions in the comments below!
