The Canaries’ chief has talks scheduled on Monday to embark on the next phase of a summer re-build, after a 3-0 Premier League defeat in their top-flight swansong at Everton.

City finished 19th in the Premier League and will be joined in the Championship next season by Newcastle United and Aston Villa after only a 12-month absence.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has suggested there are likely to be major changes to the squad before they start again in the Championship in August.

The Canaries were relegated from the Premier League after finishing in 19th place.

So, FLW's Conor McGilligan has identified FOUR players Norwich City fans need to say goodbye to in the summer.....

Sebastien Bassong

Sebastien Bassongd

The French defender has gone down a total of six times in his career.

He first suffered relegation with French side Metz in 2006 and 2008.

A move to the Premier League saw him relegated a further four times: Newcastle in 2009, Wolves in 2012 and Norwich in 2014 and 2016.

This form for me isn't plausible for a promotion chasing team.

Yes Bassong is capable, but his form this season has been very poor, his judgement, errors, lack of leadership and sluggishness made Norwich into a laughing stock at the back in the majority of games.

One noticeable game for this would be against Manchester United when Norwich's faith was essentially confirmed.

The Frenchman completely misjudged the flight of the ball that let Rooney in to assist Juan Mata who cooly finished.

Bassong this season for me has been a liability, the addition of Tim Klose completely steadied the defence, but his injury hurt Norwich, Bassong and Martin failed to step up to the plate and Norwich were consequently relegated.

Cameron Jerome

After amidst transfer news surrounding Jerome it looks like Villa are interested. This may be the perfect fit for Norwich.

Poor displays, poor efforts and a lack of goals again mean that Jerome has been scooped to the Norwich goal prize by Mbokani.

Jerome missing key chances this year and being outshined by his fellow striker could mean that he departs this summer.

Better strikers, better goal stats all feature in the Championship and even better League One strikers with more potential in talents like Tom Bradshaw, Sam Winnall for instance.

Norwich in my opinion should cash in on Jerome and invest in young, hungry talent, ready made for the Championship.

Ricky Van Wolfswinkel

Become a symbol of all Norwich's failings.

Ending this torrid affair and releasing him would be the most positive aspect for Norwich this window.

Contributing to his wages is draining the financial assets of the club and if they can somehow sell, whatever it takes, it will be cleansing and will denote a fresh start for the team.

I admire the hope of some that Wolfswinkel will finally succeed but it's not going to happen in this type of league, he got bullied in the Premier League and would be no different in the championship.

The physicality and skill in the English game seems to have beaten Wolfswinkel in every aspect, getting rid of him would benefit the club just for a rebuilding process.

Kyle Lafferty

An average Championship player with no real stand out attributes.

Norwich need to be looking at players who have stand out such as a pace ridden finisher and a target man who is more aggressive in the box and wants to attack crosses.

Lafferty signed for Birmingham on loan and subsequently didn't offer much.

The Northern Ireland striker would be an okay addition for any League One outfit, I would struggle to see him ever being a deadly Championship striker.
