Luton have had a rather poor start to the campaign and will be hoping that they can improve their results in the upcoming weeks.

They do have an opportunity to strengthen in January though, and here are FOUR players that would come as a boost to the Hatters.

Gunter has been a consistent Championship player at Reading, and with him massively out of sorts at the Royals, he could be a crucial signing in keeping the Hatters in the division.

His defensive prowess and experience of the division makes him a player that you'd assume Graeme Jones would want around the pitch and the dressing room.

Maddison has been fantastic during his time at Peterborough and this season he's really starting to add even more goals to his game which is brilliant to see.

A side like Luton is crying out for some attacking creativity in the final third, and Maddison could be the man to supply that and finally have a crack at the Championship.

Paddy Madden has really started to find the net for Fleetwood, and he'd be available on a relatively small fee one would assume. It'd be hard for the forward to turn down the opportunity of Championship football and a potential starting spot.

His goals could be crucial for a Hatters side who desperately need points, they need a striker and he'd be a good fit for Jones' side.

Rob Dickie is still at young age to make a real impact in the future and at a higher level. His price will have probably risen after the performances he's been putting in this season, but a small fee could be on the cards due to Oxford playing in League One.

It would definitely be worth testing the U's to see if they'd sell, or even seeing if the player wanted a move as this would be a very good signing to make their defence harder to get past.
