It was a miserable season for Aston Villa, as they finished plum bottom of the Premier League with their lowest points total since the Premier League era began, amid a string of shocking performances.

There is likely to be a huge turnover of players this summer, with many likely to be on huge wages and some simply needing to move on before fans turn on them even more.

Writing an article with only four players who the fans want to say goodbye too, is a tough call, as it could easily be more, but there are certain players in the Villa squad who have been worse than others.

A lack of fight, passion, and general effort was the main reason many fans turned on the club this term, with many taking to mocking the players during the final few games.

Here are FOUR Aston Villa players that the fans need to say goodbye to this summer.....

Joleon Lescott

Is there anyone else to start with? Lescott has been a bit of a joke all season, with a series of social media outbursts and so called 'accidental tweets', causing uproar among fans.

The fact Lescott kept getting picked though begged an even more serious question, in that it meant the squad literally must have had no one better to pick.

Lescott will surely see his time at the club come to an end this summer, with big wages and attitude both conspiring against him. It will be a surprise to see any Premier League clubs make a move for the former Man City man, who has seen his stock fall considerably this year.

Gabby Agbonlahor

Despite being at Villa for more or less his entire career, it may be time for the front man to move on, with a number of off the field problems affecting him this season too.

He probably would do pretty well in the Championship if he was fit and wanting to play, but that seems unlikely given what has happened this season.

Agbonlahor though, unlike Lescott, may well have a few clubs clamouring for his signature, and with his pace and finishing still sharp, he could bring something to the table for numerous clubs.

Charles N'Zogbia

N'Zogbia has hardly been a crowd favourite from day 1 really, with his attitude and general effort coming into question on numerous occasions.

A big money buy from Newcastle a few seasons ago, he has failed really to deliver any sort of form since his first 18 months at Villa Park, and has fallen down the pecking order under numerous managers.

It is likely that the Frenchman will be moved on this summer, with big wages and lack of game time both counting against him.

Jordan Veretout

I personally have found it hard to see what the French midfielder has brought to the table this season, after signing for a fairly large transfer sum during the summer.

He seems to offer little in the way of attacking flair, nor does he break up attacks with any sort of dynamism.

Veretout could well be one who is moved on, and I dont think many Villa fans would be too fussed should he be sold. A move back to France is the most likely option, with many in the Premier League likely to see that he has little to offer to the English game based on his performances so far.

Villa fans, what do you think? Who else would you like to see leave? Let us know!
