Sheffield Wednesday are enjoying a very positive run of form under boss Jos Luhukay, with some exciting performances to go with it.

The Owls beat Bristol City with a quick fire double from Lucas Joao, who is becoming a serial goal-scorer.

Luhukay’s side now sit in 6th position in the table, meaning that Sheffield clubs make up a third of the play-offs, with Yorkshire in general making up two thirds.

It is certainly an exciting time for Wednesday fans, who had to sit through a tedious season last year.

Now, Luhukay has got used to his team and is really bringing the best out of some of his individuals.

What has let Wednesday down in recent years, where they have fell short in the play-offs, is lack of leaders and experience to see them through the tough moments in games.

For that reason, Luhukay may try and tempt some Premier League players to the club.

Here, we look at FOUR Premier League outcasts Sheffield Wednesday may bring to the club…

Danny Simpson’s career will be best remembered for the pivotal figure he played in Leicester’s Premier League winning campaign. This season however, he has hardly featured for Leicester noting the form of new signing Pereira.

Simpson would be a great addition for any Championship club and Wednesday should try their best to sign him.

Eldin Jakupovic looked like a great shot stopper in Hull’s relegation season under Marco Silva.

The Bosnian-born Swiss goalkeeper is now on the periphery at Leicester so should take a step down. Some Wednesday fans have been discontented with Cameron Dawson’s form, so a January move for a more experienced ‘keeper could be on the cards.

Winston Reid is an experienced defender who could be a vital addition to Jos Luhukay’s squad.

The West Ham defender has missed the start of the season with an injury and may struggle to get back into Pellegrini’s plans, noting the form of young Declan Rice.

Therefore, the New Zealand captain may choose to drop down a league.

Another experienced defender that is an outcast really in the top flight is Younes Kaboul. The French centre-back plays for Watford but has hardly had a look in under Javi Gracia.

His experience could be crucial for a Wednesday side who are seeking promotion.
