It's probably fair to say that Norwich City's return to the Premier League this season hasn't gone as they would want it to.

Despite a string of impressive performances and noteworthy results - not least their win at home to defending champions Manchester City - Daniel Farke's side have struggled on the whole to get the wins they need in the battle against relegation.

As a result, the Canaries currently find themselves bottom of the Premier League table, six points adrift of safety with nine games of the season still to be played at some point.

Consequentially, it looks as though an immediate return to the Championship is a distinct possibility for Norwich come the end of this season, and that is something that could make it hard for them to retain some key members of their squad moving forward, as other clubs circle.

Here, we take a look at four players who could be in line to leave Norwich in the next few months.

Having led Norwich to promotion in emphatic style last season with an outstanding return of 29 goals, Teemu Pukki has continued that impressive form into this season.

The Finnish forward has so far netted 11 goals in 28 top-flight appearances, a more than respectable tally for someone playing in a team in Norwich's position.

As a result, if Norwich do go down, you feel there will be a number of top-flight clubs interested in securing Pukki's goalscoring services in the summer, which could make it hard for the Canaries to keep hold of their star man.

Another key player from last season who has once again impressed for Farke's men during the current campaign, is Emi Buendia.

Despite his side's struggles, the Argentinean's creativity has regularly been on show throughout the campaign, and only three players have provided more assists in the top-flight this season than the seven supplied by Buendia.

That too is something that is likely to have caught the attention of a number of other top-flight clubs, meaning it could be difficult for Norwich to retain Buendia's services as well, should relegation be confirmed.

It could be argued that things could have been even worse for Norwich this season, were it not for the exploits of Tim Krul.

With his side up against it throughout the course of the campaign, Krul has played a big role in limiting the damage suffered by his side at times - the two penalty saves in a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United spring to mind - and it seems that has already started to attract attention from elsewhere.

Recent reports have claimed that Bundesliga side Schalke are interested in the Dutchman, who is said to want to continue playing top-flight football beyond the end of this season, meaning a Carrow Road exit could soon be on the cards for Krul.

Someone else who has justifiably caught the eye in Norwich colours this season, is Todd Cantwell.

In his first season playing at top-flight level, Cantwell has enjoyed some impressive outings for the Canaries that suggest he has a long future at the top level, and he was even linked with several top-six clubs - including both Manchester sides and Tottenham - early in the January window.

While Norwich were able to hold off that interest at the start of the year, things would likely be different in the summer were they to be relegated, with Cantwell likely to be keen to take another step forward in his career, rather than taking what could be seen as a backwards move with a potential return to the Championship.
