Paul Heckingbottom needs to make changes to this team in the summer.

Leeds finished the season in 13th, which was six places lower than the previous season.

A major reason for this is the poor signings in the summer transfer window who were unable to replace players such as Chris Wood.

Cutting out the periphery players and the flops is the right move in order to make this team competitive and create space for new signings who are expensive but have proven quality at this level.

Heckingbottom will also want to make his mark on the team because this is the first transfer window he has overseen with the club.

Here are four players that are close to leaving...

Sacko joined permanently from Sporting Lisbon in the summer after spending a season on loan at the club. However, he has been unable to match the expectations that he set in that season.

Leeds needed a wide threat last season, so there was a clear role in the team for him but he struggled to make an impact. The Malian winger made 14 league appearances with no goals or assists, although only one of them was a start. However, neither manager was sufficiently impressed by him, which is a warning sign.

Cibicki was bought from Malmo in the summer as another forward option, but he has struggled to adjust to the Championship. Thomas Christiansen was much more willing to give him opportunities than Sacko because he started five started games under him with seven appearances in total.

He struggled to contribute offensively, though, with two assists in that time and Heckingbottom hasn't even given the 24-year-old a chance to prove his worth. Selling him on would be the best move even if they make a loss because he clearly doesn't feature in Heckingbottom's plans.

Wiedwald lost his place to Bailey Peacock-Farrell and the young goalkeeper hasn't looked back since which has been at the German's expense. They only got opportunities to start because Andy Lonergan was injured, so Wiedwald is effectively third in the pecking order.

He was another disappointing signing made in the summer, so the majority of Leeds' outgoings will be removing the flops in the team from last summer. Wiedwald serves little purpose in the team now that Peacock-Farrell has shown his maturity with the club also linked with Angus Gunn, so he needs to leave.

De Bock was only signed from Club Brugge in January, but he's already moved down the pecking order thanks to Tom Pearce's impressive start to his Leeds career. Therefore, a summer move could be likely because they have multiple options in that role with Gaetano Berardi competing for a spot as well as Stuart Dallas providing back-up.

He has been more consistent than most of the other signings made this season, but he still isn't up to the required standard, so he should be part of the clear out this summer.
