Wolves have an important campaign ahead of them back in the Premier League.

Getting transfer business done quickly and solving any squad issues such as contracts and signing loanees permanently has to be the priority for the board.

The team needs to be well-prepared by the time the season comes around as well ensuring that Nuno Santo is able to get the most out of pre-season, in order to give them as much of an advantage as possible over the other Premier League teams.

Here are four issues that need to be addressed as soon as possible...

Wolves have been linked with goalkeepers such as Joe Hart in recent weeks as they prepare for Premier League football with John Ruddy seen as a bit of a weakness compared to other areas of the squad.

They need to bring in someone quickly if they are planning to improve this area in order to allow that goalkeeper to adjust. If they aren't going to bring someone then they need to dispel the rumours in order to provide Ruddy with job security, so that he is confident ahead of the new season.

The defence needs bolstering for the move up to the Premier League. Willy Boly is reportedly close to joining permanently, which is good news because he looks capable of making the move up divisions along with Conor Coady. However, there are doubts around Ryan Bennett and Ruben Vinagre is yet to be signed permanently.

Therefore, they need to bring in proven players to strengthen this area because an improvement in quality is needed as well as added depth. Their success last season was built on a strong system that created a solid defence which the rest of the team used as a platform, so it's a key area.

There have been conflicting reports about Jota's future because he was only on loan at the club from Atletico Madrid last season. Wolves do have the option to sign him permanently, which they confirmed, in January, they would be exercising in the summer. However, that hasn't happened yet even though the season finished a few weeks ago.

They can't afford to lose Jota because he was the top goalscorer in the league with 17 goals as well as six assists. He is the key player in their forward line and was only behind Ruben Neves in how influential he was on the team.

The future of both Leo Bonatini and Benik Afobe is uncertain because neither have been signed permanently after being on loan last season. Wolves' promotion has seen them linked with plenty of players and Andre Silva was one of them. He would be a huge statement of intent, but they need to ensure they have a back-up if the potential pursuit of him fails.

They can't afford to have a transfer saga hanging over them going into the new season because they want a settled squad. It's understandable if they don't want to sign Bonatini permanently due to his poor second half of the season. However, Afobe would be an excellent option because he came in and effectively replaced Bonatini's goalscoring output in a crucial period.
