Sheffield United fans will be delighted with the news that Chris Wilder has ended speculation suggesting he would leave the club by signing a new deal.

Off the field issues with the owners meant many thought Wilder would leave to join Sunderland who are owned by a man he knows well in Stewart Donald.

However, he decided to stay at his boyhood club which indicates he is happy with the direction the club are going in.

That will be a relief to those at Sheffield United and the target is to build on what has been a successful first season back in the Championship.

Yet, there are clear issues to sort first. Here we look at four that Wilder will want to solve ASAP...

The Blades aren't going to have the biggest budget whatever happens, so to bring in the quality that the team needs, Wilder may have to be ruthless in shipping players out.

The likes of Ched Evans, Samir Carruthers and Jake Wright could all be moved on to free up space.

One way Wilder could get a much bigger budget is by cashing in on starlet Brooks.

The attacking midfielder is wanted by several top-flight sides and would command a hefty fee.

Obviously, losing him would be a blow but if it provided the Blades with finance to improve the squad as a whole it may be worth it.

Jamal Blackman enjoyed a fine loan spell and reportedly wants to stay at Bramall Lane another year.

That would be a good deal on the face of it but Simon Moore might not accept a year on the bench which could present Wilder with a problem.

Even though Leon Clarke had a fine season and Billy Sharp weighed in with crucial goals, Wilder felt his side weren't ruthless enough.

James Wilson was signed in January and did nothing, whilst Clayton Donaldson and Ched Evans also struggled to make positive impacts.

A new striker is needed to challenge the main two and Wilder must find a goalscorer out there.
