A busy summer transfer window could well await Charlton Athletic and Nigel Adkins as he looks to really start shaping his squad at The Valley.

It's the first market where he is in charge of the club and, of course, it's the first full summer transfer window that Charlton have Thomas Sandgaard at the helm, so he'll be wanting to make a real splash and get the squad ready for a promotion assault next season in League One.

Certainly, there's plenty of work to be done at The Valley but the signs are good and the foundations are there, so let's see if they can build further and change their squad further in the coming off-season.

With that said, then, we could well see a number of comings and goings in the next few weeks as we head towards the summer and, here, we're taking a look at four of each...

Deji Oshilaja's future could well lie away from the club this summer.

The defender hasn't played under Nigel Adkins since his arrival at the club as manager and that rather suggests that the former Hull City and Southampton boss does not particularly fancy the centre-half.

Oshilaja is a player that could still offer the right League One club plenty but it looks as though Charlton have eyes on other players being ahead of him in the pecking order - Ryan Inniss and Jason Pearce, providing the latter signs a new deal, for a start are ahead of him.

Stockley is a player that has made it clear that he would be open to remaining at Charlton next season in recent weeks and it remains to be seen if Nigel Adkins would like to keep him.

Preston North End naturally hold the cards at the moment with the striker still contracted to them and he has a year left on his deal at Deepdale so they will naturally be looking for a fee for him if he is to leave.

Charlton will need to decide whether they want to make him and the club and offer but one thing is clear this summer, they will need another centre-forward if they do not sign Stockley on.

Erhun Oztumer is a player that may well have been forgotten by Charlton fans this season and there is every chance that he will be leaving the club this summer.

He was on loan at Bristol Rovers this season and obviously, that ended badly as the Gas were relegated into League Two so it remains to be seen what the future holds for the player.

We know what talent he can have when he is on the ball but Nigel Adkins might think it's best for him to move on this summer.

Charlie Kirk was linked with Charlton earlier this year with Football Insider reporting a £500k bid had been made for the Crewe Alexandra player from the Addicks.

Of course, that was under the Bowyer regime and Adkins may have a different view on the player but the recruitment staff remains the same at the club and they will surely still think he's worth a look.

With a year left on his deal with Crewe, there is every chance we'll see him move on this summer to a new side - it just remains to be seen if the Addicks are going to be in the hunt.

Vennings is a decent young player but there seems every chance he could be moved on this summer now that Charlton seem to have the ability to really start bolstering their squad with more experience and better players for this level.

Vennings needs to join a club where he can be learning and actually getting senior football so he can start improving - it's going to be tough for him to get that at Charlton at the moment by the looks of things.

He has something to offer, he just needs to be at the right club to start showing it.

Joel Randall could well be the next big product of the Exeter City conveyor belt with several clubs linked with an interest in him over the course of the season.

Charlton were one of those, with the Daily Mail reporting their interest alongside the likes of Celtic in the Devon-based player.

Certainly, the youngster is one to watch and though he had a hamstring problem to curtail his season this year, he'll surely still be attracting interest heading into this summer transfer window.

If Charlton remain keen, he could be on the way to The Valley.

Pratley's future remains up in the air at the moment with his contract up in the summer and it could well be the case that Charlton decide to let him go this summer.

He's 36 now and Nigel Adkins may think there are options he can get in for the future this summer instead of retaining the veteran midfielder for another year.

Pratley was in and out of the side under Adkins towards the end of the campaign and it's a decision, really, that you can see going either way at the moment.

If he does leave, he should be able to find another club that needs his experience, however.

Millar has already suggested that he would be open to a move back to Charlton next season from Liverpool on loan and we'll have to see whether Nigel Adkins and co. are interested in doing that.

Millar says he learned a great deal this season with him proving a regular for the club since arriving in January under both Lee Bowyer and then Adkins.

He had his ups and downs, of course, but this was a really big season for him in terms of senior opportunity and he'll naturally be eager to build on that.

If that is at Charlton, then he'll surely feel as though he can kick on.
