Hull City head into January this season looking to break into the top six after a stuttering run of form recently has seen them five points off the pace.

The Tigers have a great opportunity this season to stake a claim for a spot in the play-offs this season with a lot of teams in and around the top six not showing any consistency and failing to nail down their spot.

However, the Tigers are suffering from a similar issue as they are tending to take two steps forward then two steps back. Their last result was a disappointing 2-0 defeat to high-flying Leeds United, where Hull will have thought they could have got a positive result out of the game at Elland Road.

Hull now find themselves in a position where they need to bounce back quickly if they want to mount a charge for the play-offs before January, with a number of players facing uncertain futures.

Here, we take a look at four players who face an uncertain January at the KCOM Stadium…

Jarrod Bowen

The 14-goal ace has been in tremendous form over the last 18 months for Hull and is rightly attracting attention from higher up in the footballing ladder.

Hull are in a tough position with Bowen as his contract winds down heading into the transfer window. He is out of contract in the summer which will take a huge hit to the transfer fee that Hull could receive and how high they can set their asking price.

It is yet to be seen where Bowen sees his future beyond the January window, but with the interest set to mount with his form continuing, his head could be turned by a big transfer.

Kamil Grosicki

The Poland international has also been lively for the Tigers this season, scoring five goals so far. However, he is another player at Hull whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season, if they don’t take up the option to renew it.

Grosicki would be available on a Bosman transfer after the New Year and this could prove a tempting move for a host of clubs who wouldn’t have to fork out a hefty wage to sign him.

Grosicki faces a decision on whether he wants to stay at the KCOM Stadium for an extra year or move on to a different challenge as he reaches the latter stages of his career.

Markus Henriksen

The Norwegian midfielder has been exiled from the first-team this season as he was stripped of the captaincy after looking for a move away from the club in the summer. This has meant that Henriksen hasn’t played a minute of football for the Tigers since May, as he continues his search for a new club.

January will provide him with another chance at getting out of the situation he finds himself in. Recently, he was pictured taking part in training with his boyhood club Rosenborg as they present him with a potential avenue out of East Yorkshire.

Can you guess the nationality of these Hull players?

David Milinkovic

The French striker signed for the club from Genoa in the summer of 2018 but has only made 12 appearances over 18 months for the Tigers. He plays predominantly on the left-wing in a position nailed down by Kamil Grosicki, further limiting his game-time under Grant McCann.

He has made one appearance this season when he played in the EFL Cup and registered a goal and an assist in just over an hour of playing time.

Milinkovic will surely be unhappy at his lack of game time this season and eager to force a move away from the club next month.
