Stoke City have endured a miserable campaign so far and Michael O'Neill will be using the January window to try and reshape his squad.

Whilst he will be happy to ship out several members of the group who are underperforming, one player he will not want to lose but could anyway is Tyrese Campbell.

The Independent revealed that Wolves and Crystal Palace have joined Glasgow giants Celtic and Rangers in the race for the 20-year-old - who is out of contract with the Potters in the summer.

Therefore, the Championship strugglers face a real battle to convince the striker his future lies in Staffordshire but our graphic shows that the hype around Campbell is fair.

Firstly, whilst his stats for this season may not look impressive, with four goals in 16 league games, it doesn't tell the whole story.

The vast majority of those minutes have come as a sub and he has only played 635 minutes, which works out to around seven games. So, to have four goals in that period is extremely impressive and it proves that he is capable of settling into a game quickly.

As well as that, his goal threat is clear to see. Campbell has managed 19 shots on target whilst on the pitch and again, that is a great return in the minutes played.

When you consider that Stoke are not a free-flowing side, to have so many opportunities means that he has good movement and the sort of natural instincts that you want in a number nine. On some occasions he has been played out wide but he still knows where to be to cause problems to the opposition.

It's not as if Campbell is only about goals though either. His progressive runs demonstrate his ability to carry the ball up the pitch and he has contributed two assists.

The one aspect of his game that could be improved is his passing, although that will come as he learns how to play with his back to goal and develops a better understanding of linking up with midfield runners.

Ultimately though, this is very young player and one who has huge potential. Campbell's goalscoring ability is clear to see and he has all the tools to be a star in the future, so the serious interest in the player is totally justified.

Stoke's focus will be on trying to keep him at the bet365 Stadium and it would be a great bit of business if they secure his long-term future this month.
