Fulham have one of the best squads in the Championship on paper, boasting possibly the best strike partnership in the Football League.

After a disappointing start to the season which included disastrous results like a thumping 3-0 home defeat to Wolves and 5-2 defeat to Birmingham, and this resulted in the sacking of Kit Symons.

He was replaced by Peter Grant and Stuart Gray who both were not in permanent charge and finally Shahid Khan placed Slavisa Jokanovic in charge, who had led Watford to promotion the year before.

Jokanovic was able to help Fulham keep hold of their most valuable players McCormack and Dembele, who were both attracting Premier League interest.

In the summer they signed Tim Ream, Richard Stearman and Luke Garbutt on loan with them all bolstering the defence.

Ben Pringle and Tom Cairney were brought in to improve creativity and they did help Dembele and McCormack, who scored 40 goals between the two and kept them up.

But their goals barely did keep them up as there defence was terrible, injuries ravaged there defence and the transfer business they did wasn't good enough.

In the summer they need to sign stronger defenders and get rid of the deadwood in the defence currently, as their attacking players are very good.

Here are FOUR players Slavisa Jokanovic must sell on to move forward at the club......

Nikolay Bodurov

The 30-year-old Bulgarian defender was brought in from Litex Lovech in 2014, to help bolster their defence in what was their first season in the Championship.

He appeared 38 times in a extremely dysfunctional defensive unit leaking goals and ultimately costing Fulham promotion.

Jokanovic tried to strengthen the defence by bringing in Stearman and Burn but none of them were good enough and Bodurov was loaned out to Midtjylland, and that may be where his future lies as he is clearly not in the plans of Jokanovic.

Matt Smith

The 27-year-old striker has talent which has been known since his move from Leeds to Fulham.

But with Fulham having 2 of the best strikers in the Football League with Dembele and McCormack, it perhaps isn't surprising that he has had little game time.

He scored 12 goals for Leeds in one season earning him a move to Fulham and formed a partnership with McCormack, but with Dembele arriving, he was forced out of the squad and settled for a successful loan spell at Bristol City.

He has been linked to permanent moves away with Wolves interested and the time is right for a move.

The former Manchester United youngster had successful loan spells at Peterborough and Ipswich when at United, but was never good enough to breakthrough at Old Trafford and was sold to Fulham.

He spent last season on loan to Blackburn putting in some good displays and he got some game sat Fulham this season, but his performances were disappointing and it is likely Jokanovic wants someone more consistent in that position.

Moussa Dembele

He is one of the best players at Fulham but has badly fallen out with fans since declaring that he was desperate to leave.

In the winter he was about to move to Tottenham but the move fell through and Dembele seemed to lose interest, and struggled for the rest of the season.

Dembele scored 17 goals and was vital to keeping Fulham up, winning Young Player of the Year but Jokanovic will not profit from keeping an unhappy player at the club.
