Sunderland's remarkable improvement under Jack Ross rumbles on as each week of the League One season passes by.

The Black Cats currently sit in third place in League One with 15 games played and sit just one point behind second-placed Peterborough United, boasting a game in hand as well.

Ross's side are in tremendous form at the moment having won their last four matches and not lost in seven.

Josh Maja is currently the league's top scorer with nine goals, becoming one of the club's most important players in the process.

Summer signing Chris Maguire, with five goals and four assists, and youth product Lynden Gooch, with three goals and seven assists, have been of equal importance as well.

But there is no doubt that they could still improve.

If Ross perhaps feels tempted to dip into the loan market, here are four faces he could think about...

Denver Humer has done well since coming into the first team, but left back is a position they are still quite weak in.

Sadiki, therefore, would be a wise choice to bring in.

With Charlie Wyke set to remain on the sidelines for a while longer, bringing in an experienced head would be a good idea.

That could involve the return of Darren Bent to the Stadium of Light after the experienced goal-scorer was released in the summer.

He will have plenty of suitors in the Championship but it would be well worth Sunderland having a look at Huth.

They remain slightly fallible at the back and a signing of Huth's standard could go a long way to sorting that.

After being released by Brighton in the summer, Ince is on the lookout for a new club.

A defensive midfielder could be of real use at the Stadium of Light and Ince could be the man to help out.
