After a decent start to the season, Bolton Wanderers are starting to slide down towards the foot of the table where many predicted them to be.

They currently sit in 19th place and just four points above the drop zone after rising to the top of the table with three wins from their opening four matches.

Phil Parkinson's side have now lost four of their last five matches as they continue to slip ominously towards the relegation zone.

The former Bradford City manager brought in 20 new faces during the summer transfer window as he looked to avoid a repeat of last season's tense relegation battle.

But it appears that more is still needed and the club may be tempted to dip into the pool of free-agents currently on offer.

If they do, here are four players they could look to bring in...

With Yanic Wildschut the Trotters only current left-winger, Dawkins would be a very welcome addition.

Competition for places is very rarely a bad thing and this would be no different.

Despite various runs of form, Parkinson's defence still remains shaky.

An experienced figure like Huth would be a perfect addition to the side to help settle them.

At 26, Caulker still has plenty to offer.

He would add some much-needed physicality and class to Bolton's often flimsy defence and give them a solid foundation.

Despite possessing a decent crop of strikers, Wanderers have struggled for consistent goals.

Bent, although ageing, still has sharp positional sense and is still very clinical when presented with a chance to score.
