Newcastle United is a reputable side that is rich in history and has produced some great individuals since it's creation as a football club.

They have won four League Championship titles, six FA Cups and a Charity Shield, as well as the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup, and has the ninth highest total of trophies won by an English club.

In recent terms, the status of the club has been rather shaky as they have been relegated twice in a number of years, and the supporters have a turbulent relationship with owner Mike Ashley.

However, there does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel for the Magpies, as they are under the helm of former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez and have made a great start to the new campaign.

They have really splashed the cash this summer spending a sizeable amount on summer signings from the Premier League.

Known as arguably one of the biggest club’s in the North East, there is plenty of interesting truths surrounding the club, and FLW writer Ashley Williams identifies FOUR facts that you may not know about the club..
