Bolton Wanderers will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to QPR on Saturday afternoon, as Phil Parkinson's men prepare to travel to Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.

The Trotters will be travelling to the North East full of confidence, knowing that they are yet to be beaten away from home having won at West Brom and Reading this season, as well as drawing at Preston.

Parkinson's men have been out of form recently though, failing to find a win in their last three league games after what was a very impressive start to the 18/19 campaign.

To rub salt into the wounds, Bolton will be without star man Sammy Ameobi, after the 26-year old winger picked up an ankle injury against the R's on Saturday afternoon.

With that being said, here we take a look at the starting eleven that Parkinson could look to field on Wednesday evening....

Alnwick has been an everpresent under Parkinson, and there is very little reason for that to change on Wednesday night.

Little has been out of the starting line-up in recent weeks, however changes are needed to the back line which has been leaking goals of late.

There is also very little reason why Wheater should be dropped from the squad on Wednesday night, and the Trotters captain will be hoping to shore up the Bolton defence sooner rather than later.

Beevers has formed a good understanding with Wheater on some occasions this season, and has done enough to keep his place in the first team.

After a disappointing individual performance on Saturday, Jonathan Grounds perhaps needs a break from the starting line-up, to make way for versatile full-back Olkowski who has featured mostly at right-back this season.

Lowe didn't have the greatest of games against QPR, however should be given the benefit of the doubt on what was a rare off-day for the former Blackburn captain, and should keep his place in midfield.

O'Neil has been a consistent performer for Wanderers this season, and provides much needed defensive steel to the Bolton midfield.

Due to Sammy Ameobi's injury, Parkinson should look to replace him with Yanic Wildschut.

The Dutchman has been in and out of the first team this season but has done well when called upon, netting twice in seven league games.

One player that Parkinson must look to start more regularly is Oztumer - the Turkish playmaker was by far Walsall's standout player in League One last season, netting 17 times and providing numerous assists too.

Having made just two starting appearances this season, scoring against Leeds in one of those games, it is about time the 27-year old forced his way into the starting line-up.

Noone has been a regular starter under Parkinson, and has been praised for his work rate and quality on the ball in recent weeks.

Completing the team is forward Josh Magennis, who is currently the Trotters' top scorer this season.

Having started on the bench on Saturday, the Northern Irishman came on to net a late goal for Parkinson's men, and will be looking to improve his tally on Wednesday.
