Bristol Rovers have enjoyed a strong start to the league season as they aren't too far off of the play-offs with a third of the League One season having passed.

Graham Coughlan will be analysing his squad and will be deciding which players are surplus to requirements in six weeks' time.

Here, we take a look at four players who manager Coughlan could ship out when January comes around...

Young centre-back Menayese has struggled for game-time since arriving at The Memorial Stadium and is currently fourth choice centre-back having come off the bench three times in the league this season.

The defender has had loan spells with Swindon Town and Aldershot Town across the past couple of seasons, and another loan spell could aid his development again.

Attacker Bennett, who joined the club in 2018 from Portsmouth, has struggled for a regular spot in the side under Coughlan so far.

Only being a bench option at best for the Gas, Bennett could find himself a new club to flourish at as a regular starter.

Young left-back Kelly has a bright future in the game, however will more than likely find himself third in the pecking order with the return of Tareiq Holmes-Dennis from injury.

A loan spell to a League Two side in January could help the defender improve both defensively and in an attacking sense.

Unfortunately for Nichols, things haven't worked out the way he would have hoped since joining the club in 2017.

The striker has the talent, however he is severely lacking in confidence right now and could benefit with a move away from Rovers to get his confidence back and get his career back on track.
