In every transfer window, there is always players up and down the country at clubs that are unsure about where their future lies as they continue to keep their careers going.

There will be no exception at Bristol City, as Lee Johnson will be assessing his squad over the next couple of weeks and be deciding which players are surplus to requirements or which players he will be determined to hold on to.

The Robins will be seeking to clear any players out that may not be of use during the second half of the season as they continue to chase a play-off spot, and here are four players that could be facing an uncertain January at Ashton Gate...

Rodri

The striker originally signed on a short-term contract until January a couple of months ago because of an injury to loanee Benik Afobe, who suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury in September.

The Spanish forward Rodri will be contemplating his future now having not even made the matchday squad in the last two City fixtures, and with no new contract looming, he could be leaving on a free next month.

Antoine Semenyo

Bristol City are known to be chasing loan deals for Eddie Nketiah and Rhian Brewster, and even if one of the deals was to go through, Semenyo could find himself leaving Ashton Gate this January, even if it was a temporary deal.

The striker will be searching for regular first-team football sooner rather than later, and having only filled the bench so that the Robins met the 'club developed' player quota, he could be departing on loan this January.

Bailey Wright

The 27-year-old Australian hasn't been in the matchday squad for the past three games, with young defender Taylor Moore having overtaken him in the pecking order.

The former Preston North End stalwart has only played three times for the Robins this campaign in the Championship, and with Tomas Kalas set to return from injury, Wright will be wondering just where his future lies come January.

Sammie Szmodics

The summer signing from Colchester United has failed to get the game-time that he would have wanted during the first half of the season, and has only featured twice in the league for the Robins.

With rumours of Hull City and Huddersfield Town showing interest in taking the attacker on loan in the winter transfer window, the 24-year-old will be wondering where his next destination could be if manager Johnson decides to send him out on loan to get some game-time.
