The wait is over, the weekend is here, with both EFL fixtures and FA Cup second round fixtures to enjoy, but before the big kick-off, here we look at the four biggest EFL stories of the day.............

Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet has sold his stake in the club to Abu Dhabi-based consortium East Street Investment, bringing an end to his controversial five-year ownership.

"We are proud and delighted to announce East Street Investments have agreed the purchase of Charlton Athletic Football Club," said a club statement on the website, adding: "We are privileged to take ownership of such an historic club and it is incredibly exciting to be part of the process of building a fresh future for the fans, loyal club staff and players of Charlton Athletic."

Liverpool are demanding assurances from Leeds United over the amount of game time that Rhian Brewster would get if he were to join the club on loan, according to a report on The Athletic.

The Reds are doing the same for any club looking to sign the player in the new year, as he prepares to leave Anfield on a temporary move away, with Leeds one of the several clubs looking to snap him up.

Former Middlesbrough and Bolton man Andrew Taylor is set to land his first coaching role at Sunderland as first-team coach where he link up with Phil Parkinson once again, according to a report in the Northern Echo.

A versatile left-back, Taylor played under Parkinson at Bolton but was out of contract in the summer and he announced his retirement aged 33 in September, he now makes his first move into coaching to link back up with Parkinson.

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris has given his players a warning after saying some players will need to leave the club in January if he wants to make signings as his squad is "too big," according to a report on WalesOnline.

The Bluebirds head to Nottingham Forest this weekend having collected four points from Harris' first two games, however, the boss admits he is expecting a balancing act in January claiming "What I do know is it is a big squad and before we bring anyone in, in January, players will have to leave."
