Another weekend of exciting matches throughout the EFL gave us lots of headlines coupled with a number of managerial vacancies remaining unfilled, their is plenty of news to digest.

As we start a new week here we look at the four biggest stories of the day.......

Despite speculation over the weekend, that was sufficient for his club to issue a statement, it is being reported by Sky Sports that Stoke City have ended their interest in Preston manager Alex Neil.

talkSPORT had reported on Saturday that Neil was about to be brought in at the bet365 Stadium as replacement for Nathan Jones who was sacked last week, after a dismal 10 months at the club.

Former Derby County captain Richard Keogh faces a year on the sidelines due to the injury that resulted from the drink/drive accident that has rocked the club, and that has resulted in two team-mates being prosecuted in court and Keogh himself being sacked by the Rams.

Keogh's agent Cos Toffis in an exclusive interview aired on the White & Sawyer show on talkSPORT earlier this morning was at pains to stress that his client was not finished in football and will be back playing again confirming that he had been told by medical staff that Keogh is already ahead in his recovery, adding: “Will Richard play again? One million per cent.”

Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk faces competition from Middlesbrough and Wigan in the race to sign 21-year-old Crawley Town striker Bez Lubala, as reported on TEAMtalk.

Lubala has been in great form for Crawley scoring eight goals in league and cup competitions having joined on a free transfer in the summer, having left Birmingham City.

QPR manager Mark Warburton could have a battle on his hands if he wants to hold onto on-loan Burnley striker Nahki Wells with Birmingham City poised to snatch the forward from them, according to the print edition the Sun on Sunday (November 3, Page 61).

Wells has been in great form so far this season with eight goals and two assists in all competitions and is a player that Warburton is likely to want to retain to help with the R's' promotion challenge.
