The weekend is just around the corner and with it a full programme of EFL fixtures, but before the ref's whistle sounds, here we take a look at the four biggest EFL news stories of the day...

West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is poised to complete the £8.25million signing of loan star Matheus Pereira next month, it is reported by The Telegraph, when the 23-year-old passes 30 Championship appearances.

The Brazilian winger has been one of the stand-out players in the EFL this season and will trigger the agreement when he plays five more league games of 45 minutes or more.

Middlesbrough midfielder Lewis Wing is attracting interest from Premier League sides Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth and Southampton, according to TEAMtalk, having scored six goals for Middlesbrough so far this campaign and has been one of the standout performers for his side.

The 24-year old’s meteoric rise is nothing short of astounding with Boro signing Wing from Shildon AFC in 2017 after scoring 37 goals from midfield for the Northern League side in the 2016-17 season.

Markus Henriksen admits that he is “completely finished” at Hull City after leaving the club on loan last month, after the Norwegian international joined Championship rivals Bristol City on deadline day for the rest of the season.

Henriksen had been frozen out by Grant McCann after he failed to secure a summer exit from the KCOM Stadium and now the Swede has claimed in the Bristol Post that "The way this situation has been handled is really bad for both parties," adding "I was very glad and lucky when this opportunity came along."

Millwall are preparing plans to expand the Den to 34,000 seats with proposals under development that will see a phased expansion of the existing stadium, built as additional upper tiers behind the existing seating bowl, it has been confirmed on the club official website.

The plans, drawn up by AFL Architects, include a new public plaza at the heart of New Bermondsey, which is elevated over parking and service areas and will accommodate retail, commercial and community use spaces along the street frontages, complementing all of this will be flexible commercial space for events and conferencing, alongside residential developments.
