With the transfer window in full swing, here we highlight the four biggest EFL news stories of the day.....

Despite his side sitting on top of the Championship, West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is taking nothing for granted and is considering a move for Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant, according to a report on Birmingham Live.

Grant arrived at the John Smith's Stadium in the last winter transfer window and has scored 12 goals already this season as Danny Cowley's side attempt to get back into the promotion mix.

Newcastle United have told any clubs that may be interested in their striker Dwight Gayle that they will allow the 29-year-old to go out on loan without a fee, as long as the players £60,000-a-week wages are met in full, according to a report in The Telegraph.

The player who helped the Baggies reach the play-offs last term, is wanted again by Slaven Bilic's side while also attracting attention from fellow Championship promotion chasers Fulham and Nottingham Forest.

West Ham United have signed Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph from Middlesbrough for a fee of about £4m, it has been confirmed on the Boro club website.

Randolph made 42 appearances for the Hammers between 2015 and 2017, before moving to Boro in a £5m deal and rejoins the London Stadium side on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is on the hunt for back-up for first-choice striker Patrick Bamford during the January transfer window, though the Whites’ enquiry for Watford striker Andre Gray looks like a non-starter, after the Hornets knocked back their approach about the availability of the 28-year-old, according to Athletic journalist Phil Hay on Twitter.

Gray arrived at Watford in 2017 making 78 appearances in all competitions, though he’s started only seven times for the Hornets this term, having previously played for clubs including Burnley, Brentford and Luton Town.
