It has felt like a long start to the summer for Leeds United, who are now preparing for their first pre-season friendly against Forest Green Rovers tomorrow.

Marcelo Bielsa will have his feet firmly under the table in Leeds now, with tomorrow a first opportunity to see the work that the Argentinian head-coach has been doing at Elland Road.

A clash with Forest Green also throws up the possibility of a debut for Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman, who have been added to Bielsa’s squad on-loan from Chelsea already this summer.

Other senior players will expect to feature against Forest Green, whilst a number of Leeds’ talented academy players could also be pushing for a chance to impress Bielsa.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Leeds’ squad ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Forest Green, naming the starting XI we believe Bielsa should be fielding against League Two opposition…

Blackman will debut against Forest Green tomorrow but will probably share minutes with Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Ayling missed a lot of last season through injury, so Bielsa will want to get some minutes in his legs.

With Pontus Jansson only just finishing international duty, Ayling could deputise at centre-back.

Who Bielsa fields in the middle of his three-man defence is going to be interesting, with many expecting to see a midfielder in there.

A powerful Kalvin Phillips could be the man he turns to.

Leeds don’t have many defensive options on their books, with Cooper likely to get minutes.

Right wing-back is a position Dallas is familiar with, having played there for Northern Ireland.

This could well be is new role under Bielsa.

Forshaw is going to be key for Leeds this season in midfield, with his passing game sure to be key to how Bielsa wants his side to play.

Pearce broke onto the scene last season and really impressed.

Pre-season gives him the opportunity to push on for a regular starting berth.

Like Blackman, tomorrow is Baker’s first opportunity to pull on a Leeds shirt.

The £4.95m-rated midfielder should start over Samu Saiz.

Hernandez was one of Leeds’ standout players last season, and will have a key role to play somewhere in Bielsa’s side.

Edmondson is highly-rated at Leeds, with the teenage striker looking like he will have a promising future ahead of him.

With a lack of attacking options, he should start.

Roofe scored 14 goals last season and will be looking to play his way into Bielsa’s plans for the new season.
