Bitter rivals Norwich City and Ipswich Town go into this Sunday's East Anglia derby separated only by goal difference in the Championship table.

Mick McCarthy's Tractor Boys are in 12th, one place above the Canaries with both sides tied on 44 points, eight away from the play-off places.

The fact that the sides could not be in any closer proximity adds another dimension to a match that is always a feisty affair and as the home side, Daniel Farke's men will go into the match as slight favourites.

Norwich are looking to do the double over Ipswich having won the reverse fixture earlier in the season 1-0 through a James Maddison goal although there have been a lot of changes at Carrow Road in that time.

We've taken a look at the eleven Farke should play on Sunday and it contains six changes and a different formation to the one deployed in October's meeting.

Manchester City loanee Gunn has enjoyed an impressive season, standing out especially in last month's clash against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The first thing every manager looks for in a derby match is a clean sheet and Gunn will be essential in the Canaries efforts to do just that.

He's a quality shot-stopper and Farke should have no doubts about his ability to perform when called upon.

Hanley has been around the block but has settled into decent form at Carrow Road as part of the back three.

He is a no-nonsense defender and that is exactly the type of character needed in a derby match - he will take no prisoners.

He has international experience with Scotland as well so his temperament should be good even under the pressure of such an intense rivalry.

Zimmermann got his first taste of the derby in October, keeping a clean sheet on that occasion and he will be looking for another one on Sunday.

His German compatriot Farke has brought a few of his countrymen to the club and clearly feels he can trust them and Zimmermann is no different.

Klose is another German, with great experience and as the final member of the back three, will be hoping to keep Ipswich quiet on Sunday.

As the home side, Norwich will have to take the game to Ipswich but they managed to do that away from home against high-flying Derby last weekend so they should be going into the game full of confidence.

Reed is playing out of position at right wing back but has performed impressively and there will be no doubts about his capacity to perform that role under pressure on Sunday.

I'm sure he would much rather be battling in the middle of the pitch but he will be solid and energetic up and down the right flank.

Tettey is now among the most experienced heads at the club and should captain the side in the derby.

He has been a solid, combative midfielder for a number of years now - although capable of the spectacular and has scored at Old Trafford in the past.

Another special moment would go down a treat with the Norwich fans but they would settle for a typically strong performance from Tettey, allowing them to wrestle control of the midfield area away from Ipswich.

Leitner, another of the German contingent, dislodged Tom Trybull for the visit to Derby last weekend and should keep his place here after such a good team performance against Gary Rowett's men.

He and Tettey will need to play with aggression but also show their class to get Norwich on the front foot, supplying the front three and letting them loose to cause all sorts of problems.

Lewis netted at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea in stoppage time and another famous goal would be just the ticket in this one.

Like Reed, he will get up and down the flank ably all afternoon and I have been impressed with him when I've seen him this season.

Maddison is undoubtedly the star man in this Norwich team right now and he is the one that Mick McCarthy will be looking to stop at all costs on Sunday.

Derby couldn't live with him last weekend and I'm not sure Ipswich will be able to get near him on Sunday.

Jack Grealish lit up the Second City derby last weekend and I'm expecting similar from Maddison here.

Oliveira missed a penalty in the shoot-out at Stamford Bridge and he missed another spot-kick last week at the IPro - if he'd netted it, Norwich would have been leaving with all three points.

He doesn't see eye to eye with Farke but he'll still get the nod here and lead the line with his physical presence.

He has been better known as a winger but Murphy's pace though the middle compliments Oliveira's more static style and the two should cause problems on Sunday.

I'm not sure Norwich will leave too much space in behind but his movement should cause problems all day long if he's on song.
