Sheffield Wednesday had been in fine form until losing against Brentford last weekend, and manager Carlos Carvalhal will hope to pick up three points against Leeds United this Saturday.

Carlos Cavalhal takes his Owls side to Elland Road at a good time with the Whites stumbling at the top-of-the-table, and they'll be looking to make it three loses in what's been a bad month for Garry Monk.

The Owls meanwhile continue to put pressure on the likes of Huddersfield, Reading and Leeds with their good form and barring the loss to Brentford last weekend, they'd won their last four games on the spin.

And with the tie set to be one of the biggest of the season, we're tipping the Owls to come out on top and really surprise their relegation rivals on Saturday, if they field this XI.

So with that in mind, here's the Sheffield Wednesday XI we think will beat Leeds this weekend...

GK: Kieren Westwood

Former Coventry City man Kieren Westwood has been in good form for the Owls this season, but he'll be wary of the threat posed by the Whites this weekend.

Chris Wood has been in excellent form this campaign, and Westwood will hope for some decent protection infront of him to keep the goals out on Saturday.

RB: Liam Palmer

Academy graduate Liam Palmer has been impressing in what's been one of his best season's in a Wednesday shirt but he needs to ensure he's at his best, especially with Jack Hunt out injured.

He gets forward well and will be looking to provide plenty of ammunition for the likes of Jordan Rhodes upfront

CB: Vincent Sasso

Vincent Sasso is back in the Wednesday side and will have to ensure he's ready for one of the toughest games of the season this weekend.

The Frenchman is back at Hillsborough after joining the Owls on-loan last season and joining on a one-year deal this summer, and a good performance against Leeds could see him offered an extension come the end of the campaign.

CB: Glenn Loovens

Dutch veteran Glen Loovens will be the leader in this backline against a tough-looking Leeds United side this weekend.

He's got bags of experience having played in England for a number of years now and he'll be well aware of the threat proposed by the likes of Hernandez, Roofe and Sacko.

LB: Adam Reach

B

A record signing from Middlesbrough this summer, there's thought amongst the Wednesday faithful that we're still yet to see the best from Adam Reach.

The pacy Englishman has been widely used at left-back for most of the campaign but if there was ever a game to shine in, this is certainly it.

LM: Ross Wallace

Former Burnley man Ross Wallace has been widely used by manager Carlos Carvalhal this season, and there's little reason he'd be dropped for the crunch tie against Leeds this weekend.

He offers an experienced head on the flank and he'll be looking to get plenty of delivery into the likes of Rhodes and Forestieri on Saturday afternoon.

CM: Sam Hutchinson

Former Chelsea academy graduate Sam Hutchinson has been moved into central midfield this campaign by manager Carlos Carvalhal and he's shone in his new role.

The burly Englishman gets seriously stuck-in and he'll be looking to disrupt the Leeds midfield throughout.

CM: Almen Abdi

Almen Abdi is back in the Wednesday squad and he's impressed in Wednesday's decent run over the past few weeks.

Again, he's got plenty of experience in midfield and he'll be looking to keep the likes of Bridcutt quiet in this must-win tie.

RM: Callum McManaman

Callum McManaman has had to bide his time over the past few weeks but after coming off the bench in Wednesday past couple of games, we'd like to see him thrown into the mix for the win against Leeds.

The Whites have been exposed defensively by the likes of Huddersfield and Cardiff earlier this month and McManaman will want to get at the Leeds backline as much as possible if he is given the nod.

ST: Jordan Rhodes

Jordan Rhodes was signed on-loan in January and he'll be looking to give his career a much-needed kick-start between now and the end of the season.

He's a natural goalscorer and has more than enough quality to get a goal or two against Leeds, if he's offered the right service by his teammates.

ST: Fernando Forestieri

We've seen some good things from Fernando Forestieri over the past couple of weeks, and the Italian will be looking to get back to his best as Wednesday continue for promotion.

He's one of the most skillful players in this squad and one moment of quality from him could win this tie, if it's tight throughout.
